Work At WECare

COME AND TRANSFORM THE WORLD, ONE DOG AT A TIME

We’re looking for talented and passionate individuals to join the WECare family full-time. The hours are long, the pay is shit and working conditions can sometimes be challenging. This is Sri Lanka and despite having a fully-equipped hospital now, we still face daily challenges like power cuts, shortages of meds – and distressingly, the local bakery running out of veg roti. Despite all this, we reckon living life as a WECarer is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread.

QUIT YOUR DAY JOB AND LIVE YOUR CALLING

Being a WECarer can be tough but we work hard and play hard. You get to work alongside like-minded individuals who give their all for street animals.

We'd be lying if we said it was selfless - we get to hang out with the coolest dogs (and cats) on the planet. Every. Single. Day. Despite all the challenges, there is no better feeling than knowing you're not only making a tangible difference to lives, but are also living your calling.

BECOME A WECARER

Our base is the WECare hospital in Kapugama, on the south coast of Sri Lanka. We love the area as it's not touristy, so you get to experience the 'real' Sri Lanka. Don't worry, there's plenty to do on your days off, if surfing, swimming and lazing around on tropical beaches is your thing...
We run international standard outreach programmes as well as operating from a hospital which wouldn't look out of place in the UK, Australia or the USA. A lot of work also goes into the day to day operations involved with running a UK and Sri Lankan registered charity and for that we need dedicated, full-time staff, who can commit at least a year to our cause. We need humans who will laugh the house down, get their hands dirty and really dig deep to go above and beyond for WECare and for the animals we help.
