A recovered Cake was put in our clinic garden (he can’t be put back on the street as his spine needs monitoring) where you could hardly see him for dust, spending his days running literal circles around the other dogs like a total speed demon.
We thought we’d found him a forever home when he went to live with a wonderful family (along with fellow WECare cutie, Ria). Ria instantly loved life in her new home but Cake is very timid with new people, and was struggling to settle in. Then he went missing. The family were distraught and our search efforts were thwarted by Sri Lanka’s strict coronavirus curfew, severely limiting when we could travel to look for Cake.
After weeks of worrying, nagging neighbours and putting up posters, Cake was found! A WECarer’s mum had seen one of our posters and realised she’d seen him! We raced over and after two hours of searching, about to give up, our tuk tuk driver Prabath spotted Cake!
We brought Cake home to the clinic, where he’ll remain until we find a home he’s 100% happy with (apparently he’s very hard to please…!). Until then, want to be his sponsor?
HE’D BLOODY LOVE THAT.
